I’m Adam Lipsky, and I’m here because I believe in the transformative power of genuine connection and support. My journey into counselling has been deeply personal, shaped by my own experiences and the challenges I’ve faced. In my teen years I struggled with a violent traumatic incident that took away my voice in life. I lost my ability to be myself. I reclaimed my voice through exercise, Toastmasters, counselling, and meditation. These experiences have taught me that healing often begins with acknowledging our suffering and finding a safe space to explore and heal our wounds.
I understand that reaching out for help can feel daunting and that sharing your innermost thoughts and feelings takes courage. I want you to know that I approach our work together with empathy, respect, and a commitment to understanding your unique story. My goal is to provide a compassionate environment where you can feel heard, valued, and supported.
As a father, tradesman, educator, and counsellor I have experienced many walks of life. Most of my career has been about skill development. Born and raised in Vancouver B.C. I started out my career as a Red Seal Mechanic working for 10 years at Richmond Honda. From there I volunteered with St.John Ambulance and Rich-Del Toastmasters to connect to different parts of my healing. I was encouraged to become a high school shop teacher in my 20s and started the journey through UBC. Over the years I worked with thousands of adolescents, families, and community members in inner-city environments. I graduated from two programs at BCIT, one at UBC, one at SFU, and a Masters focusing on counselling at City University Seattle. Even though I learned a lot in school I learned more through learning to connect with what we all have in common: a desire to feel happy.
In our sessions, I aim to be more than just a guide—I strive to be a partner in your journey towards growth and healing. If you’re not seeing the progress you hoped for, we’ll discuss it openly and explore other ways to support your needs. It’s not about finding the perfect therapist; it’s about finding the right fit for you.
Thank you for considering me as a part of your path to wellness. I’m here to help you navigate this journey with honesty and care.
Warmly,
Adam Lipsky
